The purpose of life

Is it true that every life has a purpose ? If yes, what is his life's purpose... I don't get it... Not sure what he wants. But his life seems incomplete. There are things that he wants.

A good health, a trip to mountains, a marathon that he should run and many more things. He wants to laugh out loud and be merry but just can't do it. He has not been brought up to do so. Even when there are occasions he cannot laugh. Why is it so hard for him.

He wants to study more but do not know what the purpose is. What he is earning at present is good enough for his family and it takes care of all his physical needs. So I know for sure that it is not for money. His life is currently well balanced and he gives enough time to his family and work. But he is still dissatisfied. why ?

I do not know why does he wants to study ? Is it for knowledge ? What would he do with that additional knowledge? Will it make him more happy than what he is now? and how ? Who will get me these answers ?

My dear nandini

Nandini, my daughter. You make my life beautiful. Each day when you get up with a smile, I feel there is nothing better in this world. I wish to live and re-live every moment that I spend with you and wonder what all do you do when I am not around. I love the way you roll and the way you shout words. Although you cannot speak anything you want to convey everything under the sun.

Your mother is teaching you some wonderful things that will help you in your life. she is one great mom!! I love you both.

The state of being

With the advent of internet there are so many things to learn and there are so many things to read. Although there is information everywhere but I never understand where to start with. For that I need to know what I really want from life. At times I think of reading about nature, the next moment I want to ready about travels. I am also interested in learning mathematics and rules of mechanics. I want to learn people management and i wish to understand emotions. I want to go back and prepare again for IIT. I wish to go to a good school/college and learn a lot more. I do not know what to do. where to start with.

Is life so complex for everyone ? Is this state of being confused commonplace? Is this dilemma everlasting ?

Questions of the aim of life keep haunting me. why am I living ? what is it that I would like to achieve at the end of my life ? what will satisfy my thirst of knowing things ? what should I sacrifice and to what extent should I go for it ?

Infosys & I

I write this note now since my association with Infosys is getting over after 8 long years. It was a fruitful and loving relationship that I had with this company and I enjoyed every moment of the work here. Infosys gave me everything that I ever wanted and much more.

I got into Infosys by a stroke of luck. After completing my engineering, I was looking for a job and at the same time preparing for higher studies when I gave my resume for Infosys on suggestion of friend. This happened in Mumbai. I did not get a chance to sit for their written test at that time but now that I think about it, I think it happened for good. That resume of mine got me an invite for the test 10 months later. Sometime in Sep 1997 I got a call to appear for the test in pune. And guess what ? After roaming to a couple of places, I was in Pune at that time studying at Pune University (PUMBA) . I came at shankarseth road office for test and was selected. I appeared for interview and I managed to clear that as well. That was one of the first interviews of my life and I cannot forget Uday Bhaskarwar and Anjana Deb taking my interview. Infact I remember most of the questions that they asked me. Once I got in Infy, I never looked outside. There was no reason to do so. Infy had an excellent work environment, good work. since I was new to Comp programming, everything was new and everything was challenging. I used to like the work and always gave my best to it. Every time I used to put organization's interest over mine.

But things changed with time. The policies of Infosys pushed me to the corner and they made me make a decision that is going to change my entire life. I am moving out in another 9 days and I do not know whether it is good or bad. In a way it is good that I will get exposed to new style of working, new people and new processes. But then I will leave behind a legacy of 8 years. All the relationships that I have built in last 8 years and the knowledge I have gained about the people that I have worked with will be a waste.

The organization has grown so big that no one cares about who is going out and why. All they worry about is resource utilization and revenue targets.

Why am I writing all this here ? Cause I want to vent out my frustration somewhere. Is this how an employee should feel when going out ? Is it not possible to treat them humanly ? Is this the same thing I will feel in all the jobs I do ? or is it going to be different ?

It is the start of my professional career and this is the only organization that I have seen. So I do not have any right to assess any other organization. It is difficult for me to leave because I have never done it before. But I am sure I will come of age and will accept it as a fact of life.

People keep switching jobs and I am sure they dont think about it twice. But it is different for me. It is different for me since this is the first time. It is different because I had a lot of expectations from the organization. Probably I should never have expected anything in the first place. I will keep my emotions in check the next time.

so long.......

Atlas Shrugged Excerpts

This is one of the best books I have read to-date. Sharing some of the excerpts here...

I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

Excerpts from Atlas Shrugged

Definition of Money

Money is a materialistic representation of what you have to offer to the world. It is a measure of your abilities and output that every individual would want to exchange for his or her work.

Nimantrit Tum (You're Invited)

A beautiful Poem that I came across when I was young, very young. The style of poetry is called Anupras Alankar (hindi) where one alphabet is used to create rhymes.

Neerav nisha ke,
Nibid andhkaar mein,
Niharti hain, nishdin ye nischal aankhen
Nimajjit tumhare prem mein,
nirjeev hue tan
Nikharega Prem
Nirantar pehenega nutan paridhan
Nimantrit tum........

Translation
In a quiet and dark night,
these eyes are waiting for you everyday, every moment
My body is deeply sunk in your love and it is lifeless;
The love will prosper
and wear a new dress everyday
when you come
Your're Invited !!

My first blog

Ever since I heard about blogs and their success on the net, I was interested in knowing how this technology works and how does it attract visitors. I wanted to experience the phenomenon and I got a chance to do it after reading one of my colleague's blogs. It prompted me to write one of my own and here I am, exploring the world of net and finding a place for myself. I will use this space to let my creativity come out in the open and let the world see and discard it ;-)

I hope that my love for life and my experiences will give me enough material to paint on this space.
